Born and raised in Amman, Jordan, Suha studied Philosophy and Art at the American University of Beirut. She later obtained her B.A. in Philosophy from the State University of Iowa and a Masters in Fine Arts Degree from the American University in Washington, D.C. where she lived from 1970 to 1990. From 1993 to 2016 she lived in the San Francisco Bay area. She now lives in Orange County, California, with her husband David.
While Suha’s landscapes vary from the Middle East to Washington, DC to northern California, her manipulation of color and mood reflect her deep relationship with the land and is a consistent theme seen in all her paintings. Suha has won awards from the Art League in Alexandria, Virginia and from the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, DC. Her paintings have been exhibited in Washington, DC, Amman, Jordan, and northern California, and hang in a number of private collections as well as the National Gallery of Art in Amman, Jordan.
